Why small compounds

Habits feel pointless day to day because their returns are invisible on any single day. One workout changes nothing. One page changes nothing. The math only shows up at scale — and then it's absurd.

The same curve runs in reverse. 1% worse every day for a year leaves you at roughly nothing. Habits are compounding interest and you're always paying into one account or the other.

Why this is hard to feel

You do not get what you want from a habit. You get what you repeat.
